As Financial Controller your main responsibilities will be:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Creating and managing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts; analyzing variances from the plan and supporting the CFO in long-term financial planning.
- Managerial Accounting: Setting up and managing systems to track costs, profitability, and the performance of projects, products, and services, including the use of Activity-Based Costing (ABC) methods.
- Cost and Revenue Control: Monitoring and analyzing costs and margins in relation to IT projects; identifying opportunities to optimize costs and increase profitability.
- Reporting: Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports for the company’s leadership, creating dashboards with key performance indicators (KPIs), and regularly updating financial statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Preparing annual budgets and updating forecasts, monitoring budget variances, and analyzing cost and revenue trends.
- Ad-hoc Analyses: Preparing ad-hoc financial analyses for strategic decision-making (e.g., expansion, investment in new products).
- Compliance with Financial Standards: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and cooperating with external auditors during audits.
- Cross-department Collaboration: Working closely with IT, HR, and other teams to achieve financial and operational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this role, you should meet most of the following qualifications and requirements:
- Education: University degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial controlling or managerial accounting, preferably in the IT or technology sector.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Helios) and analytical tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards: Knowledge of IFRS or GAAP is essential.
- Language Skills: Advanced English proficiency for communication in an international environment.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical thinking, the ability to work with large datasets, and the capability to provide recommendations based on analysis.
